Un-Making Image Session #1: Optics, Photography in Its Entirety

Un-Making Image is a long-term project by Sarmad Magazine that looks critically at the processes of tools and image-making. By broadening and introducing an inclusive notion of 'image', it investigates the role it plays in relations of power, to activate a discourse on matters of local socio-political relevance.

Stichting Sarmad is an independent platform dedicated to image, which deals with various forms of image-making and their technical, artistic and socio-political importance. The publications of Sarmad, particularly the Sarmad books series, are representations of the various activities carried out in and by the platform.
